Hi there! My name is Atef and I’m from Berlin in Germany. I have a working holiday visa here in Japan which is a real great opportunity to discover and to learn a lot about Japan, about its history, culture and population. Japan is a fascinating country, from breathtaking nature to one the world’s most exciting cities like Tokyo, Japan has a lot of interesting things to offer. I’m really glad that I took this opportunity to experience a different culture and language to extend my horizon. I love to explore the world and to study different languages. After I had been one month to a Japanese language school I’m finally able to have a slight basic conversation in Japanese, “nihongo amari amari wakarimasen. I lived also in Cairo/Egypt and New York/USA before. In today’s global village, the ability for intercultural communication is an absolute necessity and especially my time here in Tokyo is a helpful and rewarding experience.
I work in Tokyo as a language instructor, proofreader, narrator and model. In Germany i worked as a tv-sports journalist, specialized in soccer, basketball and tennis. I love sports and it’s great to see how Japanese are also crazy about sports, especially soccer! At the same time, i’m also very interested in politics and history. For me it is absolutely important to know and to learn about the history and culture of your host country because it makes you understand a lot of things much better. I love watching movies, my favourite japans actor and director is Beat Takeshi, I really adore him. Besides that I love listening to music, especially electronical stuff like house and drum’n’bass for example. I look forward to talking with you and to learn more about Japanese culture and people, so feel always free to join my chat in a relaxed and funny atmosphere.
