Hi, how’s it going?My name is Hero! Yes! That’s my real name! When I first introduce myself to people they always assume that I’m Japanese, which isn’t a bad thing… I guess my name isn’t exactly a common English name and my Asian looks don’t help, but it’s always the start of many great conversations. I’m from Auckland, New Zealand and have just recently moved to Japan to pursue my dream of being a Tokyo pop star… so far, not so good.
Ah... anyway, let me tell you about my self. During my last year of high school, I had an incredible passion for photography and cinematography which eventually led me to study Film and Television and major in camera and lighting. I worked in the TV industry for about 5 years doing everything from making bad coffee for celebrities to paint-stripping and garden weeding… I eventually learnt to make better coffee. After doing the hard yards, I started to work in broadcasting and worked as a Presentation Director for 3 years, which then brings me to Japan. I love to travel and I’ve been to some of the most amazing places in world, but I would have to say South East Asia is one of my favorite’s…
When I’m not perfecting my voice at karaoke, I love to play my acoustic guitar and for some strange reason, I have been inspired to write songs for children. I love to snowboard in the winter and skateboard all year long. NO MUSIC, NO LIFE! Tower Records got it right! I can’t live without music. I listen to everything from indie−rock, punk and hip hop to jazz and 80’s ballads (great for karaoke). When I get a chance, I love going to gigs, music festivals, the beach and amusement parks. There are so many things that I’m looking forward to doing while I’m here and I can’t wait to share my stories with all of you!
