People often ask me if I'm Japanese. Then I ask them, do I look like one? I don't think so, but if I am, I probably am. Only I'm not. So did I confuse you? Coz I sure am…confused, that is. Basically, I'm a Filipino living in Japan for quite some time now. About a fifth of my life. And I can't say it hasn't changed me in more ways than I can imagine. Coming here in the year 2001 was most definitely a turning point for me. And everyday has been turning point since then, because everyday I keep meeting new people and most of the time they change me a bit when they leave a part of them in me. I am who I am thanks to family and friends. Well basically my family. Because if you’re a friend, then you’re instantly family to me. I’m not much of an advice giver, but if I have something to give, it’s this: Life isn't always fair...so you gotta take what you deserve. In other words, what's yours. Don't ever hesitate; never think twice about pursuing that dream. Believe me, life is a series of unfolding mysteries. You’ll never know unless you try. So give it your best shot while you’re at it.
Currently finishing a long over-due degree in some obscure place in Kyushu, I also speak a fairly good amount of Japanese. And since I’ve been around places in Japan, don’t be surprised if you hear a tinge of Kansai or Kyushu in my accent. Yup, that’s right, I have a strange Japanese accent since I first studied the language at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, then later on moved to Ritsumeikan APU, where I met most of my Kansai and Kyushu friends. If you want to know the best onsen spot in Japan, all you need to do is ask me. I lived in the Onsen capital of the country?Beppu City.
Also, when I’m not attending school and being a good student, I do a bit of acting on TV and some modelling with the hope of one day being compared to the likes of Kimura Takuya and Johnny Depp. I know it’s a far-fetched dream and one that may never be realized in my lifetime, but it’s one of the things that propel me forward.
