My name is John Harman. I was born in Aberdeen in Scotland. I studied at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and I have a BA in Fine Art. I liked working in traditional printmaking and graphic design. I am 26 years old and this is my first time living in another country. I have always wanted to move to Asia and Japan is the best choice for me.
I love the culture of Japan, the people and the warm weather. I'm enjoying living in Japan and I rarely miss Scotland. The only thing I miss is my younger sister and her Chihuahua. I'm living in Japan with my partner Diane who is also an English teacher.
My favourite movies are The Matrix, Aliens and Underworld. My favourite music are Jamiroquai, Prodigy and Rammstein. I like playing video games, watching movies and listening to music. I love watching Japanese anime, my favourite anime are Evangelion, Hellsing, Initial D and Guyver.
My hobbies are collecting video games, Japanese racing cars, shopping and surfing the internet. I like shopping in Harajuku and find the fashion there to be very lively and different. I love to talk about a lot of subjects and I have an easy going nature. I want to meet many different types of Japanese people and have a good conversation with them.
I want to travel round Japan and visit as many different places as possible. I plan to own my own Nissan Skyline R32 and travel round the country. I have only visited the areas around Tokyo but I plan to visit the rest of Japan in the next year.
